New Personal computer-Will i need to download GW2 once again in full

As title says, i will have a new computer in the subsequent week or so, and since i got the digital copy i'm asking yourself if i will have to redownload the entire gw2 gold game.

I will have my current harddrive added to the new personal computer so im hoping i can just run it from there, even though i wont be on the OS fitted on it.

The other hope is that i can basically copy the relevent directories to my new pc's hybrid drive for a bit of a performance improve and simplicity of it being on the right drive.

Any data about either option or anything I have but to think of will be amazing.
Admittedly my connection is pretty fast compared to most men and women i know, plus the first time it was downloaded within three-4hrs, precise time i don't know as i had gone christmas shopping. Even so i'd rather not are compelled to download it if i don't need to.

Also i will say if i did place this in the wrong section i'm sorry, the other sections did not seem right, so i just put it in general.

5 Points ArenaNet Needs to Change in the Coming Year

A Little Excerpt: "The year is quickly coming to a close, plus the rewards have already been rolling out for Guild Wars 2. GW2 has won greatest Personal computer game by IGN, finest MMO of 2012 (& also "Most Disappointing") by Immensely, and came in 2nd just behind Pirate101 over at MMORPG.com (yes...that was without doubt surprising.) It appears that everyone has something to express about Guild Wars 2, both excellent & negative.

Guild Wars 2 has really been effective. Every other significant MMO company that released this year has suffered layoffs, restructuring, and replacements of top workers. ArenaNet has been the exception...(arguably I am not counting the realignment currently going on at Guild Wars 2's publisher NCsoft.) However, with success comes criticism, commonly well-deserved.. I think we can all agree, ArenaNet hasn't done everything right."

Bethesda searching for fan's input on Elder Scrolls Online festivities

In the MMO genre countless fans appreciate the 'holiday events' that developers hold for particular occasions. Not everyone gets into the festive spirit yet and Bethesda is seeking fan's input on irrespective of whether events will need to be included in the upcoming MMO 'Elder Scrolls Online',

Bethesda lately posted a note on their official weblog, reaching out to fans to get a sense of how useful distinctive-events are to the expected community. In the open post to fans, Bethesda states, "Need to The Elder Scrolls Online join the party and get a few kind of holiday content installments when the gw2 gold game comes out?".

A lot of MMO's do getaway events, Guild Wars 2 lately celebrated 'Wintersday', 'Lord of the Rings Online' is presently celebrating the 'Yule' Festival and even 'World of Warcraft' hosts comparable parties. It's as a consequence of this shared tradition among MMO players that ZeniMax Online Studios is considering the following ideas and wants your help to implement them.

Within the official post Brian Armstrong talks about a few native holidays inside the world of the 'Elder Scrolls'. Particular days like "The 25th day of Evening Star" which is named Saturalia is 1 suggestion for a Christmas-like getaway. An additional concept is more for a new Year's celebration called the "Old Life Festival", which Armstrong says, "is a time for folks to reflect on their past. The New Life Festival takes place on the first day of the new year, & citizens get pleasure from the tradition of gratis ale in taverns around the country".

As for what can be included in the festivals a few concepts incorporate, "Cities and taverns could have party decorations, frosted cookies for sale from the vendors, and random NPC's may offer you presents (that were either something nice or a nasty (like a fruit cake)". Adding dialogue lines to the NPC players was also proposed.

An additional concept to get you thinking was 'Heart's Day', an event taking place on the 16th day of Sun's Dawn, this would be perfect for 'Valentine's Day' and suggestions range from "getting flowers, particular Tamriel chocolates, & umm... ~ahem~... renting a room at the neighborhood inn" according to Armstrong.

Armstrong goes on to list a number of other Elder Scrolls' traditions that may be linked to actual 'real-life' events and the company is searching for fans' input and suggestions on what to include. Of course this doesn't mean that any of the ideas will make it to the development stage then again it seems pretty clear that the developers are hoping to include a lot of events into the Guild Wars 2 gold game.

You could give some thought to the official post beneath and make your own suggestions on what could be included in the game. We think that whoever gets their thought chosen will need to grow to be the 'Patron Saint' of the celebration, & get their names somewhere in those NPC lines that were referred to earlier.

Special - Our impression about War of Shadows

Forsaken World is one of the islands, floating on the sea around the MMO world and succeed in spite of World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2, which bind to an impressive number of gw2 gold players per se. The free-2-play online game of Perfect World International is an extensive MMORPG that does not have to hide behind the names in the industry. On 12 December 2012 appeared the free extension War of Shadows, which brought a lot of new features Forsaken World. Including the first solo dungeon and werewolves, to make good friends with vampires? We had the opportunity to throw together with publisher Perfect World Entertainment, a look at the highlights of the content updates and show you now what you all expect and what we think of the new content.

Less leave, as the name says

In Forsaken World is a Free-2-Play MMORPG, developed by Perfect World International and operated by Perfect World in our country. Hallmark of the title is the project to provide an online role-playing game in the size of World of Warcraft and still sacrificing monthly costs. The venture is the brainchild of men from China successfully. Although we have no current player numbers, we can say: The servers are very well filled. Of loneliness, as the name would suggest Forsaken, so there is no question. A large selection of playable races and classes, an extensive skill system, various PvE-/Raid- and PvP opportunities, a huge world, and just about everything you usually know from playing for more tangible currency, the Guild Wars 2 gold players here for lau commanded. Who will be happy to dive into a deep MMO world should, therefore Forsaken World definitely take a closer look. But only if you can live with some graphical backwardness. So high we praised the game straight into the sky, so much sobered unfortunately the optics. With its many edges, the muddy textures and the mediocre animation So who is more likely to Crysis graphics, which will fall asleep at this point the face. Then you have to be honest though. Good for whom graphics is far behind gameplay that can safely skip this criticism. But it must be mentioned.

Violent games can hurt our children

This time of year we regularly write concerning the noxious effects that can be triggered by allowing children to play with violent video games or toys. In light of the horrific shooting in Newtown, Conn., the need to pay attention can become even more urgent.

Violent gw2 gold games do not necessarily cause violent behavior. However they set a context and provide tacit approval for violent thoughts and actions. Also, by making such purchases we're all supporting a culture of violence that is no longer tolerable.

When getting gifts for kids this holiday season, then, it is worth noting that lots of of today's computer games & toys are shockingly violent, and the messages sent to people that play them can make a cumulative difference over time.

We know that youngsters learn by way of play & they absorb values by mirroring what they see & hear. When we give a kid a violent game, computer game or toy, we're saying it's OK to play that way, & that those activities are acceptable. There is a subtle message being sent — and 1 that is reinforced at every turn in the news — that violence is "out there," & it is OK to fantasize about it.

It is totally not OK for kids to fantasize about violence, particularly at the individual level. We need to make that message clear to young folks as early as we can.

We live in a media-saturated world, and those media messages are filled with violence. This is a big departure from earlier generations. A large number of of us played with violent toys, however it was easier to separate that play from reality because the movies we watched, the books and newspapers we read, were gentler & more innocent than the current fare. Play and fantasy were clearly separated from reality.

That's not accurate today. Cartoons, reality shows and computer games appear to blend with informational shows or news. We have turn out to be numbed to tragedy & suffering. Sometimes it has even been glorified. We hope that the tragedy in Connecticut begins to change that culture, though we all want to do our part.

We know the pressures our children exert on us when there is a game or toy they honestly want. Primarily around getaway time, we should give kids gifts that will make them pleased.

However when movies, computer gw2 gold games, television programs, DVDs, & even the morning newspaper and evening news are filled with messages of violence, it will become more difficult to separate the fantasy messages from those of the genuine world. Our children can turn out to be numb to human suffering basically for the reason that news of it surrounds them at every turn.

As parents and relatives, we send messages to our children through everything we do, and — whether we mean to or not — by means of the games and toys we give. If we really hope to accomplish a safer, more civil world, we've got to start little & early, acting on the values we wish to reinforce. Actions consistently talk louder than words, and giving violent toys & games can counteract what we say to our children about kindness and compassion.

There are a lot of astonishing games & toys accessible. When it comes to the violent ones, it can be finest for our children if we just choose something else. That conclusion is becoming more & more self-evident. Let's all do our part to start counteracting the culture of violence.

Funcom's Morrison believes western MMO players "expect" the games to be zero cost-to-play

Funcom's Craig Morrison believes MMO players have come to anticipate the titles to either launch free-to-play, or switch over to the options reasonably soon post launch. The later, is a problematic expectation, according to the firm's Age of Conan creative director.

Speaking with Gamasutra, Morrison said more games will launch with the free-to-play model as it will become the accepted model for MMOs, especially in western marketplaces.

At present however, the challenge developers face is that if the game isn't free at launch, potential players will hold out until the gw2 gold game's publisher adopts the business model.

"I think you can definitely see Western games being created to start at the gates as zero cost-to-play games, because that's what the market-place will expect," he stated. "That is what the users will need, from an accessibility point of view.

"Eventually it only stands to reason that people's thought process is 'Oh, well, I'll wait till it is free-to-play,' & that isn't something we need as game developers. You don't need players to be going, 'I genuinely need to play that game! ... But I'm going to wait.'"

Funcom was 1 of the very first MMO developers to adopt the model with Anarchy Online in 2005, followed by Age of Conan in 2010. Numerous subscription MMOS which have resisted the zero cost-to-play option as a consequence far, have at least made the games gratis up to a particular level - which is basically an extended trial - & its a trend Morrison feels is "disappearing fast."

"That will no longer be a model which clicks with the players; they'll more be attempting to find, 'We anticipate a zero cost-to-play providing,'" he said. "Players expect a sizeable level of content for a considerable volume of time on a zero cost-to-play basis.

"If they see the added value in moving into a hybrid, or a subscription, or getting something via a virtual shop, then they will. I don't think players are averse to spending income if they think they're getting added value."

Morrison stated with MMOs, subscriptions and gratis-to-play can be seen "as tools," & used well, will result in hybrid solutions which work.

"We do not categorically go, 'Subscriptions are dead; there will never be subscriptions anymore,' or, 'Free-to-play is the only technique to monetize your gw2 gold games,'" he stated. "I think it depends on the game and it depends upon your project."

The newest MMO adopt a hybrid model is Star Wars: The Old Republic, which will launch its free-to-play alternative tomorrow, November 15.

Guild Wars 2 sells makeovers, explains authenticator concern

In case you haven't been entirely satisfied with how you styled your Guild Wars 2 character to look however don't have the heart (or time) to reroll, ArenaNet has a remedy... for a charge. The studio added two alternatives to the game's income retail business that enable gw2 gold players to fiddle with their characters' visuals.

ArenaNet also addressed an authenticator issue that arose when players realised that the game stopped asking for the code. Security Coordinator Mike Lewis reassured players that their game buy guild wars 2 gold was nonetheless safe: "Please be conscious that your accounts are nonetheless protected by the mobile authenticator at this time."

Easy Mode MMOs

I’m almost certain that this is something that many players have encountered in recent memory. This thing is that MMORPGs just aren’t all that challenging any more. I mean, I’m not entirely sure if they always were… but definitely they appear to be getting a lot less challenging and time consuming on the whole.

Let’s take a look at some of the MMORPGs that have released this past year alone. Star Wars The Old Republic, Rift, a new WoW expansion pack, TERA, Guild Wars 2 and I’m absolutely certain that there are a bunch I’m missing. Out of all of these, the only one that is remotely deviant from the formula prescribed by Everquest is TERA and even that still has the quest system present in all the other MMORPGs on this list. Perhaps the fact that all of these games play identically has lead to the feeling of easy mode? Perhaps players are just getting good at the game?

I say that this is not the case, I argue that it is just the developers getting lazy. I have been playing MMORPGs off and on for years now. However, the first MMO that I have played concurrently for multiples of those is World of Warcraft. Now when I first started that gw2 gold game was just after the launch of Wrath of the Lich King. This means that I still had to work through all of the previous content with all of the issues that came along with it as the ‘Dungeon Finder’ had not yet been introduced. Yes, Dungeons were a massive timesink that most players would skip over, however, you could always find a group to get one after a long enough period.

So even back before this streamlining of the dungeon finding system, players were still faced with the challenge of even finding a group. Now, a lot of you will argue that I’m being way too specific here, but really, the Dungeon Finder system is present in nearly every other MMORPG out there at the moment.

Then after you went through the trouble of assembling the group, you had to hope that everyone was good enough at their roles that you could actually complete the dungeon. This is because no dungeon at the time was a cakewalk if you were the right level and had the right equipment. Yes they were easier, but make enough mistakes and you were dead. To make matters worse was that dungeons were mostly long and had you travelling a fair distance to get back into them. So players were always playing at their best to avoid this. Die enough times and the monsters would respawn, making the dungeon even longer than that.

Lets compare that to now where finding a group is as easy as hitting a button and having the mechanism check for the right levels of gear before entering a dungeon. One would think that if you required a certain amount of gear just to enter, as well as having the convenience of finding groups quickly, that the dungeons themselves would be pretty difficult. Right? Hahahahahahahahaha! Nope. In this latest WoW expansion, I have died once in a dungeon and that was because of a disconnect. This is after just going to the Auction House and buying PVP equipment just to meet the minimum dungeon requirements. Even more strangely, the dungeons took no more than 30mins per run and that was taking it slow.

Let’s compare this to the previous expansion pack, Cataclysm, which was a step in the right direction. In Cata, you had to at least find the dungeon before being allowed to teleport into it. And damn man, you needed to have a great amount of teamwork to even reach a boss in those dungeons. As a rogue, I was using skills that I hadn’t even had to consider since I ever even picked up the game. This is counting raids as well, almost all the previous raids were mechanical nightmares against bosses, but trash enemies rarely had some kind of strategy to them. I really, actually, quite enjoyed needing to participate as a team for these dungeons because you know that the satisfaction of victory was well earned.

This year, no other MMORPG has captured that sense of victory with me. I could say that Guild Wars 2 was challenging, but that’s because half the battles had some kind of gimmick that was poorly added or you had to completely change class or weapons to even be able to finish a fight. To be challenging something has to be winnable, otherwise it’s just abuse. The worst offender of this was probably Star Wars The Old Republic. I loved that game for the story, loved it for Revan, dungeons were too easy. No satisfaction at winning at all. It was still slightly more challenging than Mists of Pandaria is currently.

I think that in order to build a new challenge, we must first construct a new environment for players. We need to kill off this design that was initiated by Everquest in a time where you wouldn’t react near instantaneously due to ping times being 500-1000ms on a good day. We have to take a new look at the design of a game that has a lot of players working together.

I want to take a look at a game that’s doing a good job at this right now, one that isn’t a RPG but is actually a FPS. This game is Planetside 2. This has players battling it out across an entire planet for control. The battlefield on this is entirely run by players and has them acting competitively for complete control over this world. Why can’t an MMORPG do this? Blank world, have players build it up and set their own challenges? Maybe it doesn’t have to be a PVP challenge? What if the entire game was a huge raid and the further players get the better the equipment would be made available to them?

What actually got me into the whole MMORPG landscape was an anime series called .hack//SIGN. The world in .hack// was presented as this nearly entire player run game, with player run policing, guilds and a mystery that wasn’t a marked questline. In most MMORPGs we don’t even have player housing, let alone the freedom this representation of a game had. Even the modern day MMORPG anime, Sword Art Online, has a better concept than most modern games. Have all the players in the game work to clear out one central raid dungeon. If that game was made today, the developers could just expand on the concept by adding a new tower or by adding more floors.

The point is that players need to feel like they’re working together, working towards defeating some kind of challenge that has been imposed on them. At the moment, it just feels like: “Hey, if I queue for this cakewalk dungeon enough times, I’ll eventually get that one item that will get me into raids”. And hey, if you’re lucky and you get all the drops you need across a few dungeons, you could be fully geared in 2-3 hours. Not including queue times, which if you’re a tank, are nothing at all.

Unfortunately this is the direction that a genre defined by difficulty and time-sinking has headed in. As an attempt at creating virtual worlds full of challenge and riches, we’ve moved into god-mode simulators that lack any kind of challenge at all. We should be moving towards more immersion, not simplicity in design and practice. More challenge, not 30 minute cakewalks. Also less artificial grind, thanks. This is something that I will talk about in my upcoming WoW:MoP review as I’m not entirely sure how badly integrated it is in other MMOs.

On the whole I don’t think that the current MMORPG marketplace will change. People like easy, or rather, too many people like easy. Who likes to think when you can just hit the same combo of buttons to win and occasionally walk outside of the purple circle that just spawned on you? Why bother even playing smart when the healer can just overheal the entire party because his equipment has been tuned to provide better healing than mana loss? I’m not saying that good players  buy guild wars 2 gold shouldn’t be rewarded by feeling like a god. I’m just saying that not all players should feel like a god from the get-go.

Guild Wars 2: What additions in the coming months?

Chris Whiteside, director of design for Guild Wars 2, enjoys a forum that is granted on the gw2 gold game's official website, announcing the plans by ArenaNet and NCsoft to improve their flagship MMORPG. Many additions are planned, here in detail.

While the publisher has added content to the game no later than the last weekend via mini-expansion "The Lost Shore", it does not stop in so good way, and reveals just one of its plans for the coming months.

All existing dungeons and should receive changes to their balance by correcting the power of the enemies and their distribution. Dungeons should also become more and more over time, the success of the Mists Fractals encouraging developers to move in this direction.

The adaptation system level open area should also undergo some alterations, as well as all the events in order to better link the players progress. Mode "Player against Player" and "World against World" should also be entitled to their respective lots of improvements.

The first will develop options which aim to transform the title on the line facing the competition while the second should have new content, providing new rewards. Finally, guilds will also be entitled to additional trophies.

An ad that has something to definitely forget the little hiccups occurred during launch, and perhaps even convince some players to come discover the landscapes of Tyria. We'll know soon enough. Thus, the high-end players of Guild Wars 2 is not bored leading developers of ArenaNet introduces new features. Besides the new state "torment" and the other hand acting upgrades "infusions", they expand the gw2 gold game to the rarity "Ascended" for objects.

The infusion equipment places you will initially only in equipment of the new rarity level "Ascended" find. "Moved up" can be classified between exotic and legendary items. Guild Wars 2 WvW Gets Punched in the Orbs

WvW in Guild Wars 2 will become a little more level in a future build as the amped up orbs of power will be removed from the game. The orbs have been a hot topic on the WvW scene for a while given the huge edge that they can provide to a faction if they manage to capture all 3, often after a WvW reset. The orbs often benefited the stronger servers, making it even more difficult for underdog servers to mount an offensive. The problem with orb hackers has also been an issue, one that ArenaNet feels this move will put to rest right away.

The announcement came by way of the Guild Wars 2 forums today from ArenaNet programmer Habib Loew.

After a careful reevaluation of orbs of power we have decided to remove them from WvW in an upcoming build. As implemented, orbs tend to strengthen teams who are already winning and make it even more difficult for underdog teams to fight back. In addition, the current implementation seems to be irresistible to hackers/cheaters and will require significant modification to prevent cheaters from having an unfortunately large impact on the state of any given WvW gw2 gold game. Under the circumstances we believe that removing orbs completely is a better choice than attempting an in-place redesign/re-implementation as it will immediately put a stop to all orb hacking. It is likely that orbs, or some orb-like mechanic, will return at some point in the future, but only after we are confident that they will not exhibit the sorts of issues that we see with orbs today.

GW2 Bot Crisis

And article talking about all the bots running rampart in GW2 as well as other short coming.

I actually happen to agree with this article 100% I think/hope more articles like this start showing up online so that maybe A.Net will start putting things into gear.

Keep the stereotype alive! journalism at its finest.

Myself I have seen a lot less botters, then compared to weeks ago.
Also the guild name they bring up is pretty bad. But to be honest in my 6 years of playing WoW, I saw A LOT of off the wall gw2 gold player names and guild names that lasted for weeks or never got changed or banned. I can remember an alliance pally named hordsuxc** or something like that, sorry it was years ago. He lasted for weeks even made it to end game before he vanished off my friends list.

One of the more famous guild names I saw and it depended on server if it was banned or not was "sapped girls can't say no". A lot of people thought this was hilarious, it made me sick. So few people took the time to really think about what it means.

^Agree with this^... their *ahem* Marketing Department which oversees ALL Community Relations & feedback channels  (instead of those departments being under Support & QualityAssurance where they belong) only seems to care about enforcement when it comes to people saying naughty things that hurt their PR and question their cashshop?   But you have to give them credit for the Tenacity and response time they've displayed the past couple months on those forums.  ...Many topics censored in less than an hour when we've seen botters still in-game a whole week after being reported.   It must also take a lot of manpower to read that many posts everyday  ...it reminds me of the hour-or-less response time we'd see in Kamadan, some people stood near the Botters/Spammers there just to watch Dhuum take them.  It really brought the community together IMO by having such a display of force so visible. Pity it doesn't instill the same level of confidence when it's only seen on the forums being done to people who may have had a point somewhere under their ravenous Venting.

Not that I'm favor of this Article either... if this is all it takes to be a "Writer", then I think most of us here could do the same or better.  Sensationalism isn't exactly a finely honed craft these days.
